ABOUT
My name is Katherine Ehninger Burnor,
I'm an interior & architectural designer in Grand Rapids, MI.
I grew up in the Chicago suburb of Glendale Heights and moved back to Illinois after graduating college. My husband, Eric, & I moved to Michigan in 2021 to be closer to family.
I attended Central Michigan University & was part of the Honors Program. I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in interior design and art history. Since graduation I have focused on commercial design; completing projects within the corporate, hospitality, manufacturing, & healthcare markets.
I've honed my Revit skills across the years, focusing on coordination in full permit & construction drawing sets. Other proficient softwares include AutoCAD, Lumion,
Adobe Photoshop & InDesign, Procore, & Microsoft Suite.
My designs focus on accessibility & functionality for the
end-user. Great design should be available to everyone &
must provide a positive & lasting impact on quality of life.
I'm passionate about sustainability & how green design principles can be applied to create a more sustainable
built environment. I hold a LEED AP BD+C credential and attended Greenbuild 2023 in Washington DC.
I love to travel and explore new places & cultures, and bring those experiences into my designs. I studied abroad twice while at CMU, a month-long trip to Italy & a 2-week trip to Ireland. Those experiences brought new insight & design into my work, and kicked off my love of international travel.
I plan to take WELL AP exam in 2024 & continue my professional development.
